ARCH opens new office in High Prairie...
July 1, 2010 - For many years ARCH Psychological Services has been providing psychological services to Northern
and First Nations communities. In the past psychologists have travelled to communities such as Ft. Chipewyan,
the Horse Lake First Nation near Beaverlodge, the Saddle Lake First Nation and St. Paul as well as
to High Prairie and the Sucker Creek First Nation to deliver psychological services. For the past several years
two psychologists have been travelling to deliver services to the Youth Assessment Centre in High Prairie
(a 12 bed residential treatment centre for youth in care).
Recognizing that communities are best served through a permanent local presence we have opened an office in High
Prairie to serve the people of the community and the communities in the Lesser Slave Lake Region.
We would like to thank our community partners particularly Northwest Alberta (Region 8) Child and Family
Services and the Lesser Slave Lake Tribal Chiefs DFNA for their encouragement and support.
Provisional Psychologist Amanda Baird, MA Psych (tel. 780.428.9223) is based in High Prairie. Other psychologists
from our office will continue to assist her to ensure a full range of psychological services is avaialble in the
High Prairie region.
