November 1, 2010 - ARCH Psychological Services is pleased to welcome Ms. Amanda Baird to the professional staff of ARCH Psychological Services. Ms. Baird will be completing a supervised practice residency program with ARCH in preparation for eventual licensure as Registered Psychologist in the province of Alberta. She will work under the supervision of senior psychologists, George Lucki and Tanya Spencer. Ms. Baird is a native of Gaspe, Quebec and is fluently bilingual in English and French. After completing her CEGEP program she enrolled at the University of Ottawa in Psychology and criminology earning her Bachelor of Arts in 2008. She was then completed the graduate programme in Forensic Psychology at the John Jay College of Criminal Justice in the City University of New York (CUNY), the only College in the US with criminal justice focus. She earned her MA in 2010 on the basis of her research into the inter-rater reliability of the Static-99, a risk assessment measure for sexual offenders. Her other research interests have included: sex offender management, treatment and civil commitment; eyewitness testimony; and psychosis and family relations. She is also committed to helping youth increase self-esteem and self-confidence and she has coached basketball in new york inner city neighbourhoods. Ms. Baird will be offering services in the areas of forensic and clinical psychology with adults and adolescents with a particular focus on psycho-legal assessments.
